SantaLetterMagic User Data Deletion Instructions

Effective date: October 5, 2025

We believe you own your data. If you no longer want to use SantaLetterMagic, follow the steps below to request removal of the information we store about you, your family, and your letters.

1. Submit a deletion request

Send an email to [email protected] with the subject line “Delete My SantaLetterMagic Account”. From the email address associated with your account, include the following details:

  • Your full name and the email you used to sign up.
  • The names of any child profiles you created, so we can confirm we are removing the correct records.
  • (Optional) A short note letting us know whether you want copies of any letters or media before they are deleted.

If you signed in with Google, Apple, or Facebook, please send the request from the same email account linked to that provider. This helps us verify ownership of the account.

2. Identity verification (if needed)

For your security, we may respond asking you to confirm additional information (for example, the last time you accessed the app or a recent upload description). We will never ask for your password.

3. Deletion timeline

Once we confirm your request, we:

  • Disable access to the account within 48 hours.
  • Permanently delete associated user records from our database within 7 days.
  • Remove letter images, audio, video, AI outputs, and other stored media from our S3 storage within 7 days.
  • Inform our processors (such as Stripe) to detach identifiers linked to your account, unless retention is required for legal or accounting purposes.

You will receive a confirmation email when deletion is complete. Backup copies in encrypted archives age out on a rolling 30-day schedule.

4. Revoking social logins (optional)

If you used a social provider:

Revoking access ensures no additional data can flow from those services to our app.

5. Need help?

If you have trouble sending the request from your registered email or no longer have access to it, contact us at [email protected] and include an alternate email plus details we can use to verify your identity. We respond to all deletion requests within 7 days.
